RED is a List X Organisation that has been involved in the defence industry for more than 20 years. In that time, RED has established a network comprising a large number of accredited defence and Government support associates and partner organisations, including relationships with academia.
Frameworks
RED has prime supplier status on more that 14 UK military and civil government frameworks. Major Defence Frameworks include:
- MOD Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS3): RED holds 296 of the 425 Narrow Area Categories, representing the largest SME footprint in FATS. Support includes consultancy and Subject Matter Expertise.
- Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (Dstl) Enabling Arrangement for Manpower Support: RED has supported Dstl and its predecessor organisations for more than 19 years and is the most active supplier to Dstl, holding all ten Demand Categories.
- Niteworks Industry Associate: Providing NEC & C4ISTAR consultancy, analysis, project management and support.

Future Core Network Concept Phase Technology Study
The key challenge for this project was to provide evidence to support early lifecycle decisions that may have significant impact on through life costs and capability management. The key output from the study was to provide a technology management strategy, which enabled the FCN IPT to utilise the abilities of commercial industry to adopt new technologies.

Reducing the Burden - Assisted Carriage
RED, with partners Boeing UK, John Deere, Roke Manor and NP Aerospace won the Capability Vision Reducing the Burden of the Dismounted Soldier- Task 4:Assisted Carriage project competition. The aim of this project was to create an all-terrain autonomous vehicle to assist dismounted soldiers as a technology demonstrator.

Learning From Experience Health Check Review
The aim of this task was to conduct an analysis of Learning from Experience in order to ascertain existing practices within DE&S and to support the development of better ways of working. The primary focus is on how LfE is captured, communicated and used to the benefit of the TLB as a whole and how improvement can be made to better exploit the opportunities for LfE.

Support to the AESG
RED provided manpower substitution for the Analysis, Experimentation and Simulation Group (AESG) at dstl. Assistance was provided on a variety of projects following the transfer of a key resource in the interim until a new employee was hired.
