Learning From Experience Health Check Review

The aim of this task was to conduct an analysis of Learning from Experience in order to ascertain existing practices within DE&S and to support the development of better ways of working. The primary focus is on how LfE is captured, communicated and used to the benefit of the TLB as a whole and how improvement can be made to better exploit the opportunities for LfE.

RED has just been awarded this project to support the Performance Delivery Improvement (PDI) Team within the Programmes and Technology Group (PTG) of DE&S at Abbey Wood.

The review will examine all aspects of the LfE process, such as the methods of capturing, analysing, disseminating, managing, encouraging and reviewing lessons learnt in DE&S. Information will be gathered through structured workshops involving key personnel and stakeholders. Workshops will also be used to investigate challenging subjects and test hypothesis developed.

In addition, the task will gather best practice from LfE in other government departments and from the private sector, in order to establish a baseline of best practice in the field of LfE.
