Obsolescence Management Training Needs Analysis
Conducted on behalf of MoD Technical Enabling Services, the aim was to capture training requirements and identify a cost-effective method of meeting those requirements in respect of Obsolescence Management.
Promoting proactive obsolescence management and the sharing of obsolescence management information is part of the overall TES Obsolescence Management Strategy. A TES target is the development and delivery of appropriate training.
RED was engaged via our 'Trusted Experts' Preferred Supplier Arrangement with QinetiQ to:
- Confirm the requirement.
- Identify the training gap.
- Identify the most appropriate training solutions for the subject.
The Study was based on the definitions and approaches contained in the Joint Services Publication (JSP) 502 that were appropriate to the analysis of the requirement and gave details for a set of management knowledge, skills and attitudes.
A Semi-structured Questionnaire was developed and telephone interviews were conducted with individual post holders in the following organisations:
- Harrier IPT
- Chinook IPT
- Specialist Utility Vehicles (SUV) IPT
- Search And Rescue (SAR) IPT
- Tank Support Systems (TSS) IPT (Turret Systems)
- Tank Support Systems (TSS) IPT (Hull Systems)
A report presented the findings of the TNA Scoping Study such that appropriate Obsolescence Management training solutions could be developed during the next phases of the project.
