SEIG Support

RED has been supporting SEIG since May 2008 with two teams totalling 5 specialist resources. Support to IO Assurance Architectures & Support to Land Desk.

Services provided include:

• Provision of support to the SEIG's Land Desk - Assisting Land Environment focussed Programmes, Groups and IPTs to better understand their relationship to, and interdependencies with, each other, through the use of the Systems of Systems Architecture (SOSA) in order to support the delivery of integrated and interoperable military capability.
• Acting as the technical advisor for the Architecture currently being developed within the SOSA. Identifying and extracting relevant information. Developing architecture to provide context for projects, programmes and DEC activities. Maintaining registered lists of Land Integration Issues and Risks.
• Acting as a liaison with DEC, CCII, Programme Board, HQ Land Forces, Land focussed Projects and IPTs. Representing SEIG as specialist subject matter expertise.
• IO Assurance - Provision of a team to assess project's implementation of IO. This involved review of project documents and plans for all Network Enabled Capability (NEC) significant projects across the MoD.
• Development of an Interoperability Assurance process as part of MOD's NEC governance process.
• Development of an Interoperability Maturity Model and self assessment tool for project Interoperability Assurance.
• As part of the Interoperability Assurance process, support to the development of JSP 600 and the management of JSP 602 policy.
• Architectures Support - Provision of review of the MOD Architecture Framework (MODAF) proposals and provision of advice on its implementation.
• Technical Assurance and PR&A Reviews - As part of Technical Assurance of MOD projects by DE&S, provision of technical assurance statements for Interoperability in support of both DE&S investment appraisal and IAB scrutiny.
